Get Inspired by Following These Accounts:
TRAVEL: @briannamadia – A couple from Utah who live the #VanLife. Inspirational for those travel addicts, or general out-west lovers. More importantly they have cultivated a massive following through genuine content and minimal *paid* posts where they promote a brand/product.
EYE CANDY: @flaxandkaleaporter – A really cool concept for an instagram feed. This cafe uses a mix of borrowed and unique content to curate a color-coded feed where the first impression of the grid is serious eye candy.  How well that translates into engagement is hard to tell, but…fun to experiment with. I feel like That Hawthorne could pull off something similar??
SMALL BUSINESS: @tortus – A ceramist out of Copenhagen who has had huge success exposing his small business to the world via his Instagram account, turning him into a bit of an icon in the ceramics world.
Interesting Read:
Why is so much wine writing bad? Inspires the question…how do we make wine more relatable to our guests whose knowledge is not as vast? You will see in the stats above, wine was much more of a topic this month as it was something all restaurants expressed as a point of focus!
Here’s A Tip:
Re: Saving IG Stories for later. Instagram wants to always ensure that its users are posting unique content in the moment. As a result, stories can only be crafted with clickable links (location tags, hashtags) in the moment before they are posted. Erin and I learned recently that the ‘Save’ feature only saves a flattened image to your phone. So, while it may seem like a great way to save a fully crafted post for later, when trying to upload that saved image (with location tags and hashtags) later on, means those links will no longer be clickable!! My recommendation is to gather photos and videos you want to post in succession, and then sit down for 10 minutes to craft the full series of stories and adding the proper location and hashtags as they get posted.
