Community Servings: Volunteer together

Monthly Volunteer Opportunities

As a group, we are strong supporters of the Community Servings mission to serve wholesome, homemade meals to those who most need them. We’re really excited to engage our own restaurant community by arranging monthly volunteer opportunities at their facilities in JP.

What to expect when you attend a volunteer date?

The day starts with a quick overview of Community Servings and their mission. You will then break out into small groups to do some of the following tasks: ladling soup, chopping veggies and meat, portioning and sealing food trays for delivery.

Community Servings currently preps, cooks and delivers 675,000 meals each year.

When are the volunteer dates?

Volunteer Opportunities are on the third Thursday of every month from1pm to 4pm.

Where do we go to volunteer?

Community Servings Headquarters at 18 Marbury Terrace, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130

How do I get there?

They are just minutes from the Stony Brook station on the MBTA Orange Line. They do have a small parking lot for volunteer use on a first come basis. They highly recommend taking public transportation if you can!

DAY OF NOTES:

The first 30 minutes of your shift, will be a mandatory volunteer orientation.

If you miss the orientation, you will not be able to participate in the kitchen.
