Eat Some Island Creek Oysters Right on Duxbury Bay

The Raw Bar will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 pm to twilight.

The farmers of Duxbury’s Island Creek Oysters announce the addition of The Raw Bar, a casual, outdoor oyster experience located on their newly acquired 11-acre waterfront farm, just steps from Duxbury Bay.

Now open to the public, The Raw Bar presents an opportunity for guests to linger outside in the sea breeze while tasting oysters pulled from the bay hours before they are shucked, often by the very people who grew them.  The Raw Bar is a chance for folks to experience Island Creek’s oysters in their natural environment, alongside Duxbury Bay and the people who make it special.

The Raw Bar offerings include local oysters hailing from Duxbury, Kingston and Plymouth, with a focus on their own Island Creek, Row 34, and Aunt Dotty varieties. Anchored by a retrofitted Island Creek Oyster food truck, the outdoor space also features authentic German beer garden picnic tables surrounding a long communal driftwood table, which creates a relaxed space for guests to enjoy oysters, beer, wine, and lawn games before leaving the farm. In addition to local bivalves for $2.50 each, The Raw Bar will also feature a selection of tinned fish from Galicia-based Ramón Peña and caviar by Island Creek. A smattering of local South Shore and Boston- based beers will complement the menu in addition to large format rosé, canned cocktails, and wine on tap.

The Raw Bar gives guests the opportunity to see oyster farming in action while enjoying locally sourced products in the perfect al fresco setting. With seating to accommodate 75 on a patio strung with twinkle lights, guests are encouraged to sit and enjoy sips and bites before moving on to lawn games including corn hole, badminton and croquet, and BYO s’mores around the onsite fire pit. The Raw Bar also features art installations by local artists Michael Coyne and Samantha Bennett, the eldest daughter of Skip Bennett.
